Ms. Crystal Minott is a new math teacher at Jericho High School. Ms. Minott decided that she wanted to be a teacher because while she was in college, she often had friends or classmates who would approach her asking for help with math problems. After a while she realized that she enjoyed helping people and teaching.
At first, Ms. Minott was an accounting major in college, but she had a passion for math so she changed her major to mathematics and went on to earn a master’s degree in Mathematical Adolescent Education. She also has a school building leader certificate and school district leader certificate from The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Ms. Minott loves the Jericho community and appreciates her students’ positive attitudes. She said, “ I am excited to bring my expertise and enthusiasm to the Jericho community.”
Ms. Minott’s students appreciate her eager personality and effective teaching methods. Freshman Avery R. said, “She’s very enthusiastic and she teaches at a very good pace.”
Freshman Saba K. said, “ She is very nice and she is very energetic when she teaches.”

New math hire Ms. Minott is always willing to individualize instruction, especially during her extra help sessions.
When not in school, Ms. Minott enjoys spending time online shopping, so much so that she even knows her Amazons driver’s name. She also likes to spend time with her family, and is dedicated to maintaining a healthier lifestyle for them and for herself.
