The Jericho Jayettes lit up the court and field with their enthusiasm and choreography, performing thrilling half-time shows for boys varsity football and the girls and boys varsity basketball teams.
Jericho Jayettes coach Ms. Alyssa Lionetti was delighted with this year’s team. She said, “I couldn’t be prouder of the hard work the Jayettes have shown this year. Each dancer on the team demonstrated school spirit, dedication, and a passion for dance.”
Senior and co-captain Sophia Liu is excited about the season and the Jayettes’ diligence. “The Jayettes have been working really hard this season to perfect the dances that we’ll be showcasing at boys and girls basketball games. We are really excited to perform so we hope there will be a lot of people in the bleachers to cheer us and the basketball teams on.”
Junior captain Nora Khan was pleased with how the team members encouraged each other. She said, “We have a really good group who support one another through all of our practices and games. It’s such an encouraging environment.”
Senior and co-captain Alexa Coven talks about how this year’s team worked very well together. She said, “This year’s team is super ambitious and talented. I think all of us work really well together which is sometimes difficult with a big group like ours.”
