This year the Jericho Girls Varsity Swim team made a splash with their extremely successful season. Breaking numerous records and winning many meets, the team persevered through it all.
As for the rest of the team, they finished their season by winning the Section 8 Division D Championship. This is the first time in Jericho girls swim and dive history that they earned this title. Captain and senior Kiran Johar said, “Seeing this team progress means the world to me, and I feel so lucky to have captained the team this year. The friendships and memories I’ve made with this team will last a lifetime and will always have a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to see what this team will accomplish in the future!”
This year, senior diver Rachel Yang won states by being the only diver to score over 500 points. This makes her a two-time NYS diving champion.
The Jericho swim team came in 5th in the Nassau County Championship. That is the highest this team has placed in over a decade. Senior Emersyn Wang said, “I think this season is one of the best seasons that we had, I’m proud of everyone on this team and I wish them the best of luck next year.”
