A Satirical Report By SHRIYA BANSAL, LINDSEY KOMSON, SAMANTHA MERY and TYLER SIEGMANN
Dr. Artiles and the Jericho High School Administration held a meeting to enforce strict rules at this year’s senior prom. Here’s how it went:
Students spent hours upon hours getting themselves ready for their senior prom. Wardrobes included their finest set of pajamas.
Due to COVID restrictions, students were instructed to remain 6 feet apart from each other at all times. This included spaced out photos in the traditional “prom pose.”
Due to mask mandates, students were not allowed any food or drinks at the event. Thus, students began to faint from hunger and dehydration.
Jericho has never awarded a prom king and queen. However, bedazzled masks made for the perfect opportunity to start a new COVID-style tradition.
After Jericho’s prom came to an end, the senior class snuck over to a secret prom venue thrown by the class presidents. Seniors spent the rest of the night partying away and enjoying their final nights of senior year.
UPDATE: All students who attended this “secret prom” caught COVID-19. A two week quarantine means no graduation ceremony…sorry seniors!
