The Jericho High School JV girls soccer team continues to work hard with a smaller than usual squad of only 14. On Wednesday, October 4th, the team beat Great Neck North with a score of 6-0 at Jericho’s home field. High scorer freshman Lexi A. scored 3 goals and sophomores Alexa A., Rachel S., and Lauren S. each scored 1 goal. According to freshman defender Jade S., “We showed up to play and we worked really hard to keep the ball out of our area.”

On Friday, October 6th, the team lost against Bethpage with a score of 2-1 at Bethpage High School. Freshman goalie Alexa G. defended the goal aggressively and freshman Lexi A. scored 1 goal. On Tuesday, October 10th, Levittown gave up a shutout when Alexa A. scored 2 goals for the Jayhawks, but unfortunately they weren’t enough to overcome Levittown’s 3-2 lead. Coach Lacey has been impressed with how the team has been playing. “So far this season, the girls continuously pushed forward and improved every single practice and game. This is a hardworking bunch and Jericho girls soccer has a bright future,” she said.
