As another school year comes to an end, it is time for New Media Communications to say goodbye to its beloved seniors. They will all be missed for their many contributions to our publication.
“I really enjoyed writing articles throughout my year in this class, mostly because they are easiest for me. I really think that I learned a lot about journalism and I am proud of what I accomplished in a short amount of time. My advice is to take this class as early in high school as possible,” said Spencer R.
“I am really proud of my piece ‘Senior Artists’ because I was able to explore a student’s passion in his dream to be an artist. My year in this class has made me much more interested in journalism. My advice is to not let frustration get the best of you,” said Sohaib A.
“This class has influenced me to major in communication at Newhouse in Syracuse. After 2 years in this class, I have become much more skilled as a journalist. My advice for underclassmen is to always do the work in this class because it will always benefit you in some way,” said Rob F.
“This class has inspired me to major in journalism in college. I took this class for 3 years, and the time I spent in it has impacted me greatly. I now know how to be a leader as well as an Editor-in-Chief. I strongly advise everyone to take this class because it is the best 40 minutes you will spend in a day,” said Nick A.
“ I have been in this class for 2 years. I have learned many skills including the proper way to ask questions in an interview and how to perfect my grammar. This was my favorite class in high school and graduating will be bittersweet. My favorite medium would have to be articles because I have a passion for writing which is why I’m so proud of my article ‘Chop’t.’ I suggest that underclassmen in the class should take advantage of their time because Mrs. Valenza is an inspiration to all of us in New Media communications,” said Jacki S.
“New Media Communications has really improved my technology skills the most. These skills will greatly benefit me in college and whatever my future career may be. Taking this class for 2 years has made me a better reporter. It has led me to enjoy making videos and I will forever cherish the memories. I wish everyone good luck in the future class!” said Lindsay S.
“I took this class for 2 years and really enjoyed writing articles. I now know how to properly use my grammar. Articles were definitely easiest for me and the practice I have gotten writing them has helped me to become a better writer. This has influenced me to major in communications in college. I will always have a sense of responsibility thanks to Ms. Valenza. This has greatly prepared me for college next year. My advice for the people coming into this class after me would be to never be on your phone,” said Gabby K.
“I will remember my year in this class as being very fun! My writing has greatly improved and I may even join my college paper next year! My advice is if you have room in your schedule, definitely take this class!” said Emma N.
“I have been in this class for a year and I am really proud of my video ‘Fly-fishing’ because it gave me the opportunity to interact with students that I never have in the past. This class taught me great videography skills and has inspired me to make videos in college. I advise underclassmen to try videos as well,” said Daniel C.
