Third Place, Online- Photo series — Long Island Press High School Journalism Awards 2016
A Jericho home was ranked one of the best decorated properties on Long Island for the 2015 holiday season. Click on the pictures below to experience it.
Homeowner Chris Chazotte said that it takes him 80 hours to put all the lights up.
Chazotte said, “My kids love picking out the decorations and arranging them the way they want.”
Chazotte said that it takes him around 4 days to take all of the lights down.
Chazotte says he has a special room in the back of his house to store all of the decorations.
Although the electricity bill may be through the roof, Chazotte said he still enjoys putting up the decorations.
The Chazotte family uses the lights as a way to attract visitors and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. They also gave out free candy canes!
Chazotte gets so much pleasure from putting his house on display for the community during the holiday season.
