The senior class had a most memorable sendoff on one of their last school days when senior Jared Blech treated everyone to a free ice cream straight out of his vintage Good Humor truck. Blech’s family, who are auto enthusiasts, owns two of these trucks and they use them as part of their business.
Blech had the idea to thank his friends and the faculty, and arranged the event with the high school administration. “I wanted to give back to the students and staff who made my time here at Jericho so memorable,” Blech said.
Seniors enjoyed the treats immensely. “It was a fun event for seniors and very unique,” said senior Carly Lapidus. Senior Haley Goldstein thought it was “cool” because “it was unexpected.” Senior Dan Jung got to sit on the truck and wear the signature hat. “Seeing the majority of the senior class smiling and laughing is a scene I will always remember when I am feeling nostalgic,” Jung said.
Dr. Artiles expressed his gratitude to Jared and his family for their generosity and kindness.
